Anyone remember this hilarious MINI commercial?
Hey everyone,
A few years ago, I saw a brilliant MINI television commercial. I think it might have been on one of those "funny ads from around the world" programs, not a regular USA ad.
Anyway, in the ad, there was a TV talkshow/gameshow type of setting, and in the front of the stage, there were three men who were completely naked except for a piece of cardboard covering their nether-regions (bear with me on this one).
So then it cuts to the first guy, above the waist only. It shows him lifting up the cardboard, followed by sounds of bursts of laughter from the audience, and a subtitle is added at the bottom: "Porsche owner" (or some other "image" type brand).
Then it cuts to the second guy, same thing (above the waist), cardboard is lifted, the audience reacts with laughter, and "Mercedes owner" or something similar.
Finally, it cuts to the third guy, who has a very smug look on his face. He raises his cardboard cover, and the entire audience gasps and falls silent... and it says "MINI owner"
The whole ad was pointing out that MINI owners don't need to overcompensate. It's absolutely on point about how many of us feel, I'm sure!
Did anyone see that? I am trying VERY hard to find it online, I'd love to have a copy of it to email to friends, etc. I'm hoping I'm not delusional and didn't just invent it all in my head. I doubt it ever made it to the USA TV screens (outside of the "international funny ad" show) because the American audience is too hyper-sensitive about this sort of thing... even though no actual nudity is displayed on the screen.
Anyway, if you've seen it, and especially if you know where to get it online, please let me know!

Wish I had seen it - sounds really funny. Although, if you invented it all in your head, you should send your ideas in to MINI USA
MINI has a really good magazine ad out right now for the Convertible. It is two pages stuck together, and when you tear them apart, it talks about how according to the page numbers the ad did not exist, but you had to open it anyways. It concludes that maybe you are an open person, and a MINI convertible might be the right car for you. Very funny ad, I was impressed.

I know, I know... you guys find what I'm looking for and it's not good enough... but it's so small, people won't fully understand what's going on, unless they've seen it before.
