I wanna speak MINI Speak!

Okay kids,

There are a lot of you out there (and you know who you are!) who are using terms like:

MCS
Cabrio
etc.

Would you mind enlightning the unwashed and give a MINI course on MINI speak?

We salute you in advance...

MCS=MINI Cooper'S' model
MC=MINI Cooper model
Cabrio=MINI Convertable model

Anything else? It can be a little confusing at the start. Welcome and enjoy the ride.
Cheers,

A few more, from Tuls signature line:

CF: Carbon Fiber
CAI: Cold Air Intake
15%, 17%, 19% : refer to % smaller than stock diameter for a supercharger upgrade pulley

NAV: MINI Satellite Navigation System

I'm sure Tuls would give you details on the rest of his sig acronyms if you are curious :smile:

A message for all newbies!!!

As a newbie I initially tried to deciper the Minispeak but soon found out that all the acronyms used weren't really acronyms at all, but rather a nonsensical collection of meaningless letters. So to be part of the crowd around here, this is what you do:

Type some words like "The color of my Mini is" then bang on the keyboard in caps like this "CR/W" then type some words like "I'm getting a" then bang on the keyboard in caps like this "MCSC" Get it?

See how easy it is? The caps really don't mean anything but don't you feel like you know what you are talking about now?

Very funny!

Actually I just spoke to Kimba (my white calico cat) and she has agreed to provide Power Assist Acronym Generation or PAAG whenever I need it!

I can vouch for that one up there, what with my recently registered username, and future MINI, and all...

What do you do if you read where someone owns a SG/SG MC. Does he mean Silk Green or Solid Gold.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Silk Green discontinued the year before they added Solid Gold? Then all we'd need is the year to make the determination!

MINI's aren't bad, you should see....

a Honda Element page....

I have an EBP2WD5SP

EX model, Blue Pearl color, 2 wheel drive, 5 speed!

There's a company that puts these on t-shirts. On the back they say

If you can read this
I'm out of my Element

Yeah,
spend 10 min in any chatroom, public group IM forum, or board and you'll quickly realize acronyms are par for the course here in netland. Anything else would be the exception.
