R50/53 Vanity Plates
HA! The last one is SPECIAL AGENT, yes??? I kinda doubt they'd go for "BLANKU" only because it's "offensive"...unless you have an "alternate" explanation for it...like, perhaps, you're deciding on which university to attend, but in a jesting school spirit have BLANK U to stand for BLANK University!
OK... I guess it wasn't as hard as I thought, or you're just really clever. But, do you get the reference?
We can only submit three choices at once so I would nix URMUM on the first round and add a note of explanation. But, any of the 3 would be awesome and I doubt anyone has them here.

Well, I'd like to think I was really clever....I"ve posted my story about my own vanity plates at least twice in this thread! (I think I'm funny, even if nobody else does.
)Do I / we get the reference to which one? The Special Agent idea? Well...I'd have to say, no, not without a few more clues. BLANKU? Oh, ya, I totally get that!!
In the early 90's ABC showed one of the coolest, IMHO, series, Twin Peaks. The show centered around an FBI agent investigating the death of a girl in a Northwest town. His name was Special Agent.....wait for it...... COOPER. BAM!!!
Ok, I'll concede that clever bit. I wasn't a fan, and I think my brain was elsewhere during that time. You win.
Can I personalize the Lone Star Texas plate?
No. The general-issue plate is manufactured in mass quantities and uses pre-determined plate patterns.
And, regarding them being stamped/raised:
Will the new general-issue plate still have stamped letters and numbers?
No, and that’s a good thing. The stamped (or raised) license plate numbers required a lot more energy and environmentally harmful chemicals. The digital process eliminates using 484 gallons of paint thinners and 396 gallons of petroleum-based ink annually, and the energy needed to power huge ovens that dried the plate ink. Not only is the new general-issue plate more environmentally friendly, but the flat numbers and letters make it much easier to clean.

They are doing it for the enviroment and to save the earth.
So since they have saved so much on costs and paint then I think they should
pass the savings on to the consumer.
My license plate cleans off really well as long as I am paying for it, I should
have the final say as to how they are made.
That seems to be the new answer whenever a company or government cuts back.

Vanity plate addition
I hope I can figure out how to add my photo! This was on our '05 S back in '05 but I thought it might still be relevant. Read the script on the back window and the little decal up top as we also had a BRG Classic Mini at the time.

I ordered mine last week. Just waiting for the mail...........
Was torn between:
MNE BMR and 02 R50.
Went for 02 R50.
Figured that way only another Mini owner would get it.
So if anyone wants to use MNE BMR please do.
