R50/53 Vanity Plates
I just replaced my '04 LY/B MCS with an '09 CR/B Clubman S. The old plate was BMBLEB, which just didn't work with red. So, I went down to the local RMV to change it. The Massachusetts vanity plate rules are ridiculous; rules include:
1. All vanity plates must start with at least two letters.
2. For cars a maximum of six characters are allowed.
3. Numbers cannot be used in the middle of a plate; they must come at the end. For example, AAA222 would be
an acceptable Passenger vanity plate; AAA22A would not be acceptable. The first number used cannot be a "0."
4. The letters "I," "O," "Q," and "U" can ONLY be used as part of a word that is clearly defined and correctly spelled. For example, "LQQK" would not be an acceptable registration number because it is not a correctly spelled word.
And finally, this question must be answered: What is the significance of this combination of letters and/or numbers?
So I selected MRTOAD (I know, toads aren't red either) because my wife is always complaining that riding with me is like being on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Rather than state that as the significance, I told the RMV that it was "a literary reference to The Wind in the Willows."
And, amazingly enough, I actually got them (finally). It took MINI just over seven weeks from filling out the paperwork at the dealer to delivery to custom build my Clubman. It took the Commonwealth of Massachusetts over 10 weeks to custom build two aluminum rectangles with embossed letters. But I shouldn't complain, they originally told me it would take from 12 to 14 weeks for delivery.

6. Letter and/or number combinations that convey an offensive message or appear to duplicate an existing registration plate are not permitted.

We did get a personalized plate last year with the 6 characters and it was the flat plate.
It's going into effect in the next month or so, and they will at first be limited to new vehicle purchases and renewals for expiring plates. I'm not sure when they will be available for existing cars whose plates still have time left.
I like it! Like your car even more, but I think I mentioned that once before.
Must be the GP kit on Indi Blue.

And we love yours... the whole MOTD week you could hear "UH OH!"!!!
Tag ordered! Most of the good ones are taken. I have an idea for one using the 'Great Seal' plate, but I didn't think "WTFVER" would go over well with my fiance

I took MINIFRG, as froggie is my pet name.
People ask "Mini Fridge?"
No, "Mini Frog!"
(Sometimes I say yes, because I like the air conditioner on full blast.)
My car is Indi Blue, so I say it's supposed to be a South American tree frog or something.
