Possible European Radio?

Just picked my car up from being serviced yesterday and the service department was kind enough to install a new radio (original would lose AM signal when I hit a bump). Someone else actually drove my car home and told me that the radio seems to be in some European mode displaying incorrect frequencies. Does anyone know if this is a mode or an actual different head unit meant for Europe?

Sorry I posted this here but I thought more folks might see it. Thanks for any help.

I think in Europe they can tune their radios a little more precise than we can. In the US I think the tuning interval is 0.2 whereas in Europe it's 0.1

I might be wrong about the numbers, but I'm pretty sure the concept is correct.

You are correct.

Jax, just make certain that you tune to the odd frequencies (.1, .3, .5, and so on) for optimium reception.

Your radio settings may be wrong for the US. Take a look at this article on CooperSpeed to see if it helps you.

That may be it, although the one time I changed the settings on my radio from US to UK and restarted the car the radio got mad at me. Displayed an error message to the effect of incorrect region or something and refused to work until I went back in and changed it back to US.

Don't remember the exact message as it was about 2 years ago when I tried that experiment...

PeteCrosby, Thanks you got it. It was set to Europe. Changed to USA and all is good. I new the NAM members would come thru. Gotta thank Mini of the Main Line (the dealer) Pete the Service Manager and Mark my salesman for getting me an 05 radio as a replacement too.
