Does your MINI have this?

I was surfing Ebay for the heck of it and saw this Cooper for sale. It had curious options. H/K and Cooper S 17in. sport pkg rims (minilites) only. And this cubby bin in the lower dash! I have never seen a MINI (Euro or U.S) with this dash piece. Has anyone else have this dash? If so, did you order your MINI this way? The build date was 03/04, the same as my own MINI. I'm a true MINIac and just hate when I see something on another MINI that I didn't know existed. Yes I know, I'm a sick man!

I believe euro-spec MINI's get that cubbie. Not here in the U.S. though - we're stuck with the nasty knee bolster (until you replace it with a "euro shelf"!)

Zoiks!

That cubby would have saved me from cramming stuff by the e-brake this morning and accidentally setting off my tire pressure warning button ZOIKS!

Anyway Euro-parcel shelf ordered this afternoon and on it's way!

The Euro parcel shelf is fantastic and gives you more legroom, too! I ordered mine from Classic and it's one of the best interior mods you can get! The rubber liner keeps sunglass cases from tumbling around. Order one...you won't regret it!

That knee bolster sure is heavy. By getting the parcel shelf, you'll make your MINI much lighter, too.

I have this chubby cubby on my '03 MCS. Got it when I asked the dealer to order a Euro parcel shelf and they offered to install one from another car for free. It's not a parcel shelf but it's handy and the price was right. It also gave me a place for my driving light switch.

I got my parcel shelf kit from Classic (one of our NAM sponsors) for about $74, shipping included. Or you can get it at most any MINI dealer, but they may have to special order it.

That "cubby" is not supposed to be on any US MINI - there was an accidental shipment of MINIs with that part fitted, and the dealerships were required to remove it; they were even required to contact any owner who had taken delivery, and switch the part.

Unlike the euro shelf, you cannot order that part in US either.

There was a short period of time when you could special order the knee bolster with cubby. I bought mine from someone who managed to get two of them into the States

My question is why not? If it's available in Europe (or wherever), why can't we add it aftermarket here??? Seems like a silly rule to me. Mostly because I think I'd like one - good place to keep the sunglasses, etc.

is this to say we can get the one with the small storage hole but not the one with the shelf?

any other things that can fit into the mini that will store stuff within the drivers reach?

unless someone knows of a storage organizer for the door, it's just a jumble of junk and impossible to find anything when you want it.

This is all well and good, but I tend to have to much going on motoring, that I don't need to worry about things being stashed away.I just tend to motor
Both hands on the wheel, unless I'm shifting, and then only as fast as I can, maybe I'm weird, well most think I am,but I get in the car and drive it,period

Other way round - you can order the shelf.

Best options for storage - between the downtubes and the glove box organizer.
