R50/53 Box of stuff from MINI
Box of stuff from MINI
Hey, I got a box of stuff from MINI last week in the mail. A CD with 5 or 6 songs, a DVD, a MINI magazine, a manual, and a number of goofy signs like "MINI on delivery. I got my MCS05 in October of '04. Is this standard from mini and is there more. It seemed to imply that I have a subscription to the magazine.
This is fairly normal. I have got mine a year ago with different contents. I guess it's MINI's way of saying Thanks. I haven't received anything gift-wise since, but it was still much more than I've gotten from any other car. Congrats on the new baby MCS

Yes, this is normal. The majority here have reported recieving something from MINI, and MINI dealerships. Items seem to vary. Some get pens, games, cards, cups, cds, and so on. Is the mag that you're getting called MINIinternational? I got the same. It's a free subsciption for a year or so. I've had my MCS for about 2.5yrs now, and I still get a flow of MINI related stuff in the mail.
Nice to see another Canuck on the board. I'm from Kitchener, ON originally.
Cheers,
Looks like MINIUSA and MINICanada send out different stuff. MINIUSA was sending highway bingo, a coffee mug, pen, pad and big honking rubber band...
We don't get magazine subscriptions or DVD's (unless that's changed very recently)

I got my "Welcome to the Neighborhood" Kit last month (the day of the last DC Club tech day). Didn't get a coffee mug though. If I remember correctly it was: MINI Messaging Kit, Motoring Journal, Highway Bingo, a pen, a business card holder thing with some cards in it, and my permanent roadside assistance card.

That's exactly what I got in mine also. I didn't get a mug, but a co-worker who has an 04 mini said she still gets stuff every few months and she got a nice mug right before thanksgiving about 6 to 8 months after she got her car.

Apparently, you have to buy your car new from a dealer that participates in the program. (Which I think means, sends your name and address to the dept. of MINI USA that sends these out.) Apparently, not all dealers do.
Is this a great company or what? Are there any other car companies that send out promotional stuff after you've bought the car?
