Where would they put an ad like that? I can't imagine then actually using that in magazines, etc.

I've heard that there used to be a T-shirt, something about how to have sex in a MINI. Is that the graphic? Or was the T-shirt something else?

This is pretty off topic ("sleeping" as opposed to "sleeping with") but I used to take the seat bottom from the driver's side in my MGA coupe, put it on the floorboards in front of the passenger seat, crawl into the passenger side, put my *** on the seat, my head under the dashboard, and my knees up over the seatback, and sleep pretty comfortably that way. Made LA to St. Louis in under 36 hours once, sleeping that way in roadside rest areas.

Back in the days when my body was able to tolerate such contortionism...

 

AFAIK, it appeared in the U.S. versions of Playboy, FHM, Esquire, and a few other mags.

yeah, I heard this was in Playboy... a friend sent it to me. Thought it was pretty funny, but not really "work safe"

 

They're certainly creative!!!

 

I came across a really clever ad this week at the dealer. It is made to look like a Playboy Centerfold complete with jokes on the reverse side and a bio sheet with a fold out of a very sexy MCS. I'll try to photograph and/or scan it over the weekend and post it - it's really cool.

 

I saw a T SHirt on ebay just like this and motoring was spelled incorrectly. It was this same graphic. Are you sure it was a ad?

I can vouch for the ad appearing in Playboy. I saw it personally (before I was in the market for a new car... it was several years ago I think). I thought it was hilarious and showed it to my (great, understanding) wife.

 

I've heard guys claim they buy Playboy for the articles, but for the ads!?!? That's a new one!

 

There are way more raunchy ads in FHM and Maxim over in England - I remember buying one when I was 14 and seeing an ad for a copy machine that was two bare breasts pressed against glass.


I saw this about 3 months after I got my MINI, and I was totally pissed I hadn't tried it yet, but...

IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM! Great stuff!

 

Couldn't scan them but I tried to photograph it - hope it's OK. You've got to admit it's pretty clever stuff.
