yes Sir. i appreciate all the advise i can get. tack weld and spot weld, very similar i think. tack is just to hold the piece in place. its a light spot weld i think. but you know i'm new to this

i do think you are are correct. I'm still getting too much heat into the metal. however im not sure how. yet.

Yea, call it whatever but the point is that you're only welding a very small spot then stopping. Then you move to an alternating area while the previous one cools. You're not running any bit of bead.

You'll get it.

There are Facebook groups dedicated to this. Put on a flame suit then ask them.
