Motor is back in the car but I'm getting low voltage. I disconnected the "octopus" and carefully labeled every connection except the ground strap attaching point on the DS near the air box, because my brain said "oh, it will be obvious where it connects." It was not obvious. 🙄
Any help? I've got it run to the motor mount, but wanting to double check while I'm cleaning and reattaching ground wires. I'm hoping that's the cause rather than a bad alternator.
For the sake of those who might make this same mistake in the future, here's the wire I'm talking about.
Remember kids, there are TWO wires that attach to the big post on the starter. Apparently your car will run without one being connected, but it's running on your battery. 🙄
Yes i know i have changed the starter on my r52 twice. I cleaned the ground points when i rebuilt the bottom side of my car, its was really corroded with age. Also I cleaned all the ground points to battery and the body grounds. Replaced the alternator with a lifetime bosch unit. Also changed the switch for the ignition, it was starting to stick. Car starts up so fast with almost 300K miles.
