R50/53 Throttle body problems
Throttle body problems
Hello,
I am trying solve problem with my Mini R53 JCW.
After I start engine the P1225 or P0638 shows up, sometimes the engine has really low torque, sometimes just turn off, engine light on, limb mode etc...
I tried change throttle body (3 different pieces) and still after few starts same problem.
Connector looks ok, I cleaned it, clear TB, delete errors, adaptations was set, also I changed the ECU and battery, new filter. But still doesn't work. The harness is not the problem in my opinion, becouse this problem is allways only after start, or after few meters, never during ride.
Do you have any ideas how to solve it, or what can I check next?
I read some threads here, but nothing like this.
Thanks.

As JA mentioned above P1225 doesn't show up in the Bentley manual. Looking at the first three of the code P1225, the P indicates powertrain. The 1 indicates Mini (rather than SAE). The first 2 indicates fuel injection. The 4th and 5th numbers (25) indicate individual circuits/components, in your case unidentified.
I would start with the fuel delivery system by checking the pressure at the fuel rail to determine if the fuel pump is faulty, then move to testing/replacing individual injectors. Here is a company that will clean/test your injectors for $12.50/each.

You might also use the Freeze Frame facility on your code reader to help identify the problem.
