If I get this correct - the 2002 & 2003 years had the fan resistor at the bottom of the fan housing and the remote wiring/resistor hack will not work. Your options are to pull the entire fan and replace the resistor itself or buy an entire aftermarket fan housing. $20 vs $110 I recently installed the entire housing on my 2003S. Not a bad job.

Im not sure if i will be able to find the whole fan here where i live and ordering it online will cost me more than 250$ because of shipping cost plus taxes so i was looking for something cheaper than that, also will i need to remove the whole front bumper to do the job ? If i replaced only the resistor would the one i bought work ? Ir there is a specific one i should get ?

Replace the fan resistor. The repair kit is available under $20 from ebay and probably amazon as well. Cut off the old one and crimp or solder on the new one. Just a few wires. Super easy to do. The fan not working will also affect the way your A/C works as well.

It will take you longer to remove the fan housing than to do the repair.

is there a way to do that without the need of removing the front bumper?

When you pull the fan assembly- the resistor is at the top of the shroud. AFAIK they're all green in color. Yours will been worn green or grey in appearance and burnt out- They all seem to be. Cut the wires from the old one (leaving you lots of wire to work with). Strip the ends and use a crimp/butt connector or solder and some heat shrink. This should solve your problem if the fan is still working at the other speed. And it's cheap too. If it does not fix the issue- it is likely it needed to be fixed anyway so it will be one less thing to worry about.

No. Don't mess with that. Not worth the hassle. Just order the one I linked, install and you'll be good to go.

i was thinking since the link is indicating that this part is only compatible with mini 2003-2006 and it would take at
Least a month and half to get it delivered to where i live that i could try the one that i have but dont know if there is any differences between this kind of resistors in the link you provided and the one that i have on my hand

You can also try ebay and other online sellers. You can still drive the car while you wait for the resistor.

Other posters are correct, the best options is to replace either just the resistor or the whole shroud. I personally replaced the shroud because it was either 50€ for the resistor or 80€ for the shroud and the time and location. But if it's a 16$ vs 250$ choice, definitely go for the resistor only.

To remove the shroud, you need to put your car in front-end service mode. Follow those instructions:

I don't think it's possible to remove the shroud just by removing the front bumper. You need to remove the crash bar and crash tubes to be able to pull the radiator a few inches to be able to slide the shroud, or at least that's my experience. But it's not that hard. First time probably took me one hour or so. Subsequent front-end service modes only take about 20 minutes, once you know what you're doing.

It's also a good time to change the coolant while you're at it. I don't remember if you need to open a coolant hose to be able to slide the shroud, but it's a good thing to do while you're in there anyway.
