Anyone have a part number for the axle bearing?

06 MCS- Wanted to rebuild my OG axles. The bearing is crunchy. I know there's a vendor that has one, but they want like $60 for it. I've got to believe that I can find a similar bearing for significantly less than that. Anyone have any ideas?

ahh yes, the vendor that uniquely refuses to catalog by factory part numbers, just in case you were considering doing something silly and dangerous like comparison shopping for a better price or availability...that vendor...

Almost as good as the one that won't ship to any address other than your billing address, because 'Muh New CC Processing Rules®' and besides which, why ever would you need a part suddenly on an extended road trip?

To the matter at hand:
Back searching Real OEM using the nomenclature and part number from other vendor sites it appears to be 33131213892 although RealOEM says it's been superceded:
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...q=+33131213892

Note the parts don't look the same between the vendor you mentioned and the ones below. Maybe contact these guys for insight and double check it's the right part:

Thanks for taking a look. However, it appears those are the bearings for the differential and not the carrier bearing that is affixed to the passenger side axle. I do not recall seeing them sold separately by MINI (like you need to buy the whole assembly)...

You might take a look at this and give them a call for fit:

the cheapest one that I could find,
and that was totally thanks to another NAM'r who pointed out that SKF 62207-2RS1 would work so started searching further from there..

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ng-source.html

...as mentioned in that post the 23mm width is 2mm shy of factory spec but apparently worked.

I personally would not trust that cheapie though,
and would much rather grab a genuine SKF, but still dunno because the shield looks iffy, like is it actually metal or just plastic/rubber?

Factory spec:
Bore Dia. 35mm
OD 72mm
Width 25mm

Found a listing on UKbay but generic part number didn't give much clue...

.

...but then found several UK parts sites that had the same thing and found one with a better part # printed on the bearing,
then did a general query for 31607574868 bearing and got hits for a Febest AS-357225 which seems to cost an average of $20-$25

https://febestparts.com/AXLE_SHAFT_B...2X25/AS-357225

.
That one uses an orange shield though so apparently not the one being sold on the UK sites...

...so in essence,
I still have no idea but hope this might provide a good springboard!

Outstanding, Sir!! I appreciate the input. I still need to knock this old one off and see if I can get a better look at the numbers and visuals to compare.

Your research is indeed a great springboard.

Thanks again.

Just got back from my vacation to Alaska. Sorry for the delay.

I did my axles on my R52 and just did the whole axle since the boots were shot and it came with the bearing for that passenger side. GSP brand. Did not look at the part for the bearing

None of our vendors have a call out for the bearing on its own. Going to talk to SKF. 62207-2RS1 looks to be the right one based on what i can see from people trying to find one.

I am going to see what the GSP axle has. We dont have the GKN right side in stock here, its at vendor.

Ones listed above in post number 2 is differential bearings inside the diff.

Called them and they dont offer this to the USA yet, its a regional thing. They said maybe down the road. My guess is they sell to all the reman axle people and they want to sell it with the axle. Hence that's why we have it on them pre installed.
