Heated seats from a (R56) in a R53 retrofit

So I bought some nice sport cloth seats from a R56, Installed them in My R53.
They are heated seats, but my car didn't come with heated seats. I just bought the heated seat switches for the R53. I'm aware this is not just a plug n play thing. but I couldn't find someone that had tried this swap and retrofit..
I'm just wondering where to start for here.

I saw this but I believe the r56 seats are different. any advice or where to start would be helpful,

I'm guessing i need to go to a scrap yard and get the wire harness from a r53 heated seat switch, and a wire harness from a r56 seat harness.
then I can attach it together and follow the instructions for the dealer install retrofit.

From what I've been reading there's no need for the ecu to be coded.
So, this is definitely possible to do yourself.

I just need to find the wire from the kit or a salvaged vehicle.

I have the exact opposite situation. I have all of the controls and wiring for heated seats, but I think the PO swapped out old seats w non heated version.

but, in your case, you will need to find out what you have and what you need to source. First, do you have a slot in the fuse box for the heater?

next, do you happen to have the wiring pre installed for the controls. I’ve heard the first couple of years of the mini had 1 wiring harness. So you may get extremely luck and find the two plugs under the panel w the mirror controls. If not you’ll need to find them in the junkyard.

have you checked under the carpet to see if you have a plug that goes into the seat heater?

Nit saying it’s impossible. Just thinking you better be good w a soldering iron and a voltmeter

or be lucky enough to find what you need in a salvage yard

yep this part is nla and so is the harness is backorded with no eta. Most cars will be wired but dont have the harness from the kit version. They will have the full version is my guess from the factory.

Here is the old install for the R52/r53 if that helps.

Other option which is universal and people do. I know its a universal one but people have wired it in

Does anyone have a full wiring diagram of the seat heater circuit ? (if your could post up or provide link … that would be much appreciated)

Are they controlled by a module or are the switches only controlling relays ?

Any chance you can post higher resolution images... a bit too fuzzy to read the call-outs.

U should message @jcolletteiii directly. I don’t have the original images.

and I saw a partial seat harness on eBay with the air bag plug and the wiring and plug that plugs into the seat heater.

it’s listed as available from Way Motor Works. If he has one, he might have two. It won’t fix all your challenges, but it will show you which wires go from the switch to the seat. You can then work backwards to see which of the other wires going into the switch need power and ground
