hi all,

as a new cooper owner i can say i am very happy to be a part of the family. my girlfriend and i just got our silk green cooper with white top, mirrors, and wheels last week. it's very pretty car.

two small things that are not quite right that i have questions about though:

we have the profile leather which seems to be kind of "bunched up" in the back seat and not fitted quite right. has anyone seen this on other cooper with leather? wondering if we should talk to the dealer about this.

also, the GPS does not function correctly when we try to put in into "information" mode. when we try to look for info on the destination our system crashes -- anyone else seen this? a bug in the system?

thanks in advance,

curt and jamie

Mine crashed at the dealer when they showed me how to use the nav system, they gave me a new CD and now it works perfectly. As for the leather, I have the Lapis Blue, but it is still tight on the seats, but sometimes leather can sag a bit, but if it really bothers you tell MINIUSA, and see what they have to say.

thanks. will try to reset the language...

another question:

we are going to drop it off to have the seats looked at at northwest mini. they say WE have to pay for a rental. what been the experience of some other people out there on dealer service?we love the car but when we had a VW even they paid for the rental and the car was quite a bit cheaper...

thanks again,

curt

Curt,

Someone emailed Mini via the miniusa.com website about this very topic. Corporate's reply essentially read that rentals are at the discretion of the individual dealer. It sounds like your dealer is not sympathetic which is pretty dumb; they risk losing future sales, and, more importantly, you have yet to send in your dealer survey which BMW/Mini take very seriously (Some MCO members have claimed dealers have even threatened them if they did not give a good review!

just an update on this thread:

the reselecting of the language preference has worked so far. we can now get into the "information" area on the cd.

we also let NW mini know about the fix so they can pass that on to other GPSers...
