R50/53 Should I deliver pizza's with my MINI?
Wouldn't it be cool to deliver pizzas with a MINI or would that be degrading to it? Mind you I'd be the fastest pizza delivery guy around (remember the MCS has one of the fastest production-vehicle slalom times recorded).

Only thing is that people may be jealous of your Mini and therefore not give you a good tip.

That's putting excessive wear and tear into your car. Are you getting paid accordingly for mileage, gas and maintenance? If not, then don't do it. Actually the best cars for pizza delivery are old beaters (Japanese/American cars).
There is nothing degrading about using your car for work/business purposes. the real question is if it is really worth it putting all the wear and tear for someone else's profit.
PS: I knew a guy years ago that used to deliver pizzas in a DeLorean.

>>Don't you want to savor the new car smell for a while?
New car smell, what's that?
It's much better covered up with the smell of melted cheese and pizza sauce.
>> If you deliver pizzas, does your car pretty much always smell like pizza, or what?
Yes, my pizza always smells like car.
Uh...errrr.....ummm....Yes, my car smells like a pizza.

I would recommend against it. I delivered pizzas Pizza Hut for two years using my Jetta clunker. That was over nine years ago and the car still smells of that nasty vegetable oil. Of course, not all pizzas are as nasty and smelly as Pizza Hut, but it's still not a good idea IMO.

Depends again like everyone said already, on your situation. If you need the extra money, I'd look elsewhere though, IMO.
You'll have to deal with the car stench issue, as well as more frequent oil changes, servicing, failing parts, adding mileage(which will really hurt if on a lease), etc. In the end, it's really not worth it. Sure you can clear some good coin doing it. But by the time you add up the gas costs, extra maintenance on the car, etc, it doesn't seem like much. If it's a second job deal, I'd go with dishwashing before subjecting my car to such punishment. Or like once suggested already, find a beater. But then if you're looking to make money, that almost defeats the purpose. Especially if that beater needs new parts, and breaks down frequently.
Another point against this, would be your MINI dealer location. How far from you is it? You'll be needing to go there for servicing more often.
Just in my opinion, I'd advise against if you love your MINI so much. I would personally take a more degrating job than abuse my car.
Don't want to seem like a downer or anything. It's up to you. You got the driver's seat. Good luck out there.
Cheers,

Charlotte picked up the food platters in her new Cooper (200 miles on it) Monday afternoon for her office party today. Before she even made it home from the supermarket one had leaked on the leather seat.
I guess we got it cleaned up OK, but take care with those pizzas. Watch the quick turning maneuvers. Sure hate to see hot cheese flying around the interior.

I have nothing against anyone doing anything they like with their MINI, but my only concern is that you can probably get a better job  Waiting tables or dishwashing or bussing tables might be preferable.
I had some really crummy jobs when I was in college, but at least they did not force me to abuse my vehicle and I never had anything as nice as a MCS back then!
I cleaned the butcher's meat packing area of the grocery store for 2 weeks. My personal WORST job ever!

Would it be economically prudent? NO - using a new car to deliver pizza's will cost you money in the long run unless you're delivering a little something "extra" in Beverly Hills or something!
Using a beater to deliver pies makes more economic sense.
Would it super cool? You betcha!
For what it's worth, I love when my car smells like pizza. Homer: "mmmm, pizza".

Here's a little known fact about pizza delivery...
I delivered pizza right up until the moment I heard this...
As soon as you start delivering pizza, all insurance is completely revoked. NO company will cover you. The employers will only admit this if you drill them, my old boss said, right before I quit "well, if you got into an accident, you'd have to take off your Dominos shirt and hide the sign". Right. What a jerk. So short story, no, get a slow clunker to deliver with, don't be a madman in a Mini. Besides, a Mini is too good of a car to put such hard miles on. I did it in my old '98 Jeep, and hated putting so many miles on it.
So just be careful.

I hope by "old" you mean something along the lines of "former" and not that any '98 vehicle is aged!
When I think of old cars, they have to be *at least* from the 70's!
That is interesting about the insurance though. Never heard that before. (Probably why it is a "Little known fact."

I'm sure the laws vary from state to state, but I *think* in CA, if you use your vehicle for work, your employer must provide coverage while the vehicle is being used for your job. This is not to say every mom and pop pizza shack actually has this coverage...
