No Heater in R53

Hello Guys, my heater stopped working in my 04 R53. I can barely feel any warm air coming from all vents. I read that the flap under the dash can be damaged or that the heater core is clogged. It's 10F degrees, so I'm freezing inside the car. I'm planning to do a coolant flush this Saturday in hopes that it fixes the issue.

I had the same issue some years ago with my R53. The heater core was blocked badly even though I had regularly had coolant replacements done. The shop showed me the core and commented about how small the passages were. So the core was replaced and no problems since. You could probably remove the cover in the driver's side footwell and feel the lines into and out of the core. If one is hot and the other not it's likely blocked.

Yep try to flush it in reverse from the core if you can reach it. Also make sure the fan is working and not stuck on low speed.

The Cabin blower fan works. I can hear it ramp up and down when changing the fan speed on the climate controls. I touched the feeding line into the heater core, and it's extremely hot to the touch (which is obvious). The line that comes out from the heater core is also hot but not as hot as the feeding line. I'm going to do the flush tomorrow in hopes that I fix the issue, but I doubt it since the heater core is not clogged. EDIT: well I believed it's not clogged since the heater core heats up. It could be clogged but I don't know.

East of the Cascades then one guesses. Just curious how many miles on the car and how often do you use the heater throughout the year. Asking because wondering when to anticipate when the average R50/53 heater core does this, and whether it's worth preemptive replacement, thanks.

>timely coolant flushes

Also do you use the pre-mix 50/50 stuff or mix your own with distilled or (no judgement, we've all done it) tap water.

Thanks
