Hi all,

I've been experiencing intermittent limp mode, fluctuating cold start idle, associated CELs - all pointing to the throttle body position issues. Have a small round-trip planned in a few weeks and don't want to risk it. Going to get a replacement throttle body on order this weekend. Should I be sticking with an OEM or will an aftermarket work just as well? I think ModMini's video shows him using an aftermarket from ebay.

I would stick with OEM but you could try an aftermarket and keep the original in the truck as a backup in case it fails on your trip. At least you could swap it out and limp it home.

 

It appears that VDO is the OE manufacturer. Perhaps you can find one at a significant savings vs genuine Mini.

 

Non vdo models and there are fake ones too have given me nothing but tps and ap tracking issues either right away or over time fwiw.

 

Thanks all! I went ahead and ordered an OEM from Waymotorworks. There is only a small cost savings between OEM and VDO. I don't want to risk getting a knock-off either. I appreciate the quick responses!
