Car went into limp mode on the hwy. Would not accelerate at all. Pulled over and it kinda had a real rough idle for a bit. Shut it off and restarted it. Still in limp mode but let me drive home and idle was smooth at all traffic lights.

Threw p2101 and p1638. Both relative to throttle body. Does it need replaced? Was it a fluke? Any one have this issue before?

59,000 miles. 2012 manual JCW.

 

i'd spray some throttle body cleaner from the hose that goes from turbo to throttle body while the engine is running. if the problem is related to the gunk, it might help.
