R53 AND 70MM throttlebody ????

Soooo as you all know I'm always testing parts to see what works best for my setup..
so today i finally ported out a new bmw v12 throttlebody and put the exact stock style vacuum line tap.
I searched and searched for a full 3in throttlebody for our cars to drop on and install but unfortunately NONE would fit without a spacer/adapter to allow it to bolt down and that's too much work for something that may be overkill.
I do have a fully built motor running 21psi so I been trying to get the most direct , restriction free intake path into my tpr2 head I can and the throttlebody is the last step of the puzzle..
I have tried stock , ported stock ( 2nd best) , oem bmw v12 , my dinan enlarged 57mm and now as soon as the matching custom 3in intake arrives I will be trying out this ported v12 throttlebody and see how it performs..
I only have a multigauge , inpa and auxiliary gauges and my butt to tell which is the performing better. But each one has had their own different feel as well as pluses and negatives.
anyways , intake should be here in about a week and then i will install ,test and report back in this thread with my results..
Aaaaaaand i have another oem , brand new v12 throttlebody tapped for vacuum line that i will be selling along with a custom ordered full 3in intake to fit it. and ille either be selling this ported one or my dinan ( both with custom matching intakes ) depending on which one i like better..
stay safe guys , MOD ON !!!!

I have the 7 series bmw throttle body feeding my tvs intake with a 4" feed and a 7" velocity stack inside the ddm airbox. Picked up much needed flow up top. Car was running out of air up top. Will have back to back dyno results FOR MY setup next month. Velocity stack helped as well and added another layer of noise with a sweet squelch at the cusp of max flow.

For what its worth I tune on the dyno until MBT is found.

I too knowticed how much louder my velocity stack made my Sprintex too.... can really hear that scream , even 1lb of boost you hear it boosting up..
IM probably gonna end up switching , i just feel my dinan throttlebody isn't large enough...

i've been running the 760i TB for quite some time, very happy with it

I had a chinese knockoff fail on me though, the wiper wore through the sensor and it started to trigger a limp mode, was a fun time

Tested the ported tbody abit today BUT I stretched my intake over it , I wanna test it fully with a full 3in intake tube not one that stretched one as the tube is 3in down to 2.5in by the tbody.
was weird , I felt like I had ALOT of down low loss again but awesome gains above 5krpm . Same results pretty much as befor just seems to flow better than the non ported. Car seems to jump into boost very easily too..
I didnt loose or gain any boost.....
here's the weird thing , it was a 60mile round trip , mostly freeway again and on the way home I was doing hard pulls from a stop testing it and the 2nd time i did once iff the freeway , THE CAR PULLED LIKE ITS NEVER PULLED BEFOR. I couldn't believe how fast i hit 90mph from a dig. Unfortunately that was my last good chance to test it before getting home..
BUT do our cars need a spefic amount of miles or drive cycle for the stock prefacelift ( tuned ) to adapt to the larger throttlebodies adaptions ???
ALSO iat's were down about 15'F vs the other night when I'd taken a long trip with my dinan throttlebody installed instead of this one..

Do yourself a favor and make a run without your air filter on

Sooo I decided to port my Dinan throttlebody now and then test it..I was able to port it out to 65mm..
I feel like the Dinan now breaths much better up end but again it did sacrifice a little low end.. so my opinion on the ported Dinan vs the ported v12 throttlebody IS one IS NOT better than the other..my Dinan now performs just like the oem non ported v12 throttlebody but does not flow as much up top as the ported v12 throttlebody does..
but the Dinan vs ported v12 once again , the ported v12 just provides a better upper end above 4000rpm but below that I feel like the Dinan is outperforming the ported v12 throttlebody.
sooooooo , where I drive my car mostly ( 30mph-60mph) im probably just going to stick with my ported Dinan as I don't do alot of freeway driving or highway n stuff where I'd benefit more from the ported v12 throttlebody..
here's the Dinan before(2.4xxin so like 61mm) and after porting and a pic of the ported v12 throttlebody before I swapped them around..
