Torque spec for upper vibration motor mount M10 Torx

What are the torque specs for the vibration damper (upper motor mount)?

I just replaced my vibration damper on my 2005 Mini and the Bentley manual said 74 ft*lb for the engine bracket to motor mount bolt and 74 ft*lb for the motor mount to frame bolt.

However, despite it going from the mount to the frame, the lower TORX M10 x 120 bolt will not go to 74 ft*lb (65 max) and I may have damaged the motor mount. The Bentley manual should have had three torque specs.

I do not subscribe to the German “GutenTight” or Russian “Brokenov” free hand tightening and would like to do this to the spec.

Thank you,
Peter

According to the Pelican Parts website, the M10 x 120 Torx bolt torques to 68Nm (50ft/lbs). This sounds correct.

So if that is correct and the Bentley manual correct for the other two, the specs for the upper vibration dampening motor mount bolts are:
1. 74 ft*lb for the M14 bolt engine bracket to top of motor mount.
2. 74 ft*lb for the M14 bolt motor mount bracket to side of shock tower.
3. 50 ft*lb for the long M10 Torx bolt (with E12 socket or wrench) from the frame rail up to the bottom of the motor mount.

Regards,
Peter

The E12 M10x125 bolt through the hydro engine mount should be 56 Nm (41 ft.lbs.)

Lower bolt on the right mount. I have never torqued it. Just until it feels right. Be careful with that. I put antiseize on the threads. I had one get stuck. Not fun.

A YouTube video recommended 50 ft. lb. and my manual says 41 ft. lb. with a torque angle of 90 degrees. I used a new Torx bolt, torqued to a bit over 40 ft. lb. and then gave it some more with little success. I didn't want to damage anything and it was plenty tight.
