Aftermarket Steering Wheel Setup

Information on what steering hub/wheel setup works to run an aftermarket wheel in an R53 Mini without sacrificing your horn and auto turn signal shutoff function is scarce. Does anyone know what hub I can run that fits these criteria… I plan on picking a wheel based off of the hub I get. I’d prefer a low profile hub so I can run an aggressive dish on the wheel, but I’m fine with running a flatter wheel and a tall hub. Any helpful input is greatly appreciated!

The horn is normally a function of the button and the wheel itself, not counting the adapter.
And yeah, the backside of the adapter needs the canceling fingers of some sort. Mine works fine. But I found that with the adapter off...one...tooth on the shaft splines, either the left or the right canceler may not work..! So be very accurate with your adapter rotation on the steering shaft.

The adapter that I bought has all the good working parts, BUT, no matter what I tried, the wheel "airbag" light is on all the time. I tried several things, nothing worked to turn it off.

I put a flat (no dish) dished, wheel on my 2005 R53. It also has a flat bottom to clear my legs. Mini just weren't built for 6' people with size 13 feet.

Right off hand, I do not recall the adapter brand that I bought. I'll look around, to see if I can recall it.

I had to custom make a turn off for the blinkers , none have them..I did this...I cam find what adapter I'd used BUT you also need an extension with the adapter AND you will have to run wiring through the column for the horn button..I just wired in a Bluetooth activation button inline in my horn wiring instead for it to activate my horn instead of running wiring through the column ect..
but I didn't find any adapters that allowed blinkers to automatically shut off, in my pics I attached you will see how i atrached popsicle sticks on the adapter so that as it turns , those sticks push the little pieces in the column as you turn to shut off the blinkers automatically. You will have to position them in the exact rite spot and spacing but when you look into the column you will see where they need to be placed. I ran an omp wheel , nardo wheel and now a full 14in carbonfiber wheel that doesn't interfere with looking at KY gauges one bit now.

The above in red...is an incorrect, inaccurate comment..!
The adapter that I bought for my R53...HAS "canceling" fingers..! And I didn't have to add...anything to make...them work.

I guess MiniMan needs to get his facts straight. I DID...mention this fact in my post above..!

my brother is and fits just fine in my car buuuuut everything is aftermarket in mine . My aftermarket seats actually gave alot of extra room though at the sacrifice of rear foot space. But lol who cares about that in a mini.

Cool, but mine didn't and then o.p asked how to do it so just settle down..
when i was shopping i couldnt find an adapter that propperly shut off the blinkers... which did you use , I'd like to check it out as I'm sure it's better quality and fit than my current rigging job.

That dude isn't exactly a reputable source for anything, other then bad decisions.

Be curious the adapter you went with, I'm guessing NRG since they are rather common and it's the only thing they make that isn't hot garbage.

Found this article on a quick google search:
https://www.specr53.com/blog/diy/min...r-install-diy/

CN: seems like the NRG works with canceling, but needed some modification.

I think @Joshua P did a custom wheel in his (note it's flat across the bottom). Perhaps he'll chime in here.
