Welp - I finally got a weekend to throw these bad boys in. I was not as lucky as the others. One of them didn't work. I had a rough idle and the engine was shaking, which I can only imagine was it running on 3 cylinders. I swapped the stock ones back in and it's running smooth again.

Time to decide if I pay up for the official ones!

Yep, I have bought and tested 4 sets from different suppliers on a CT150 flow bench. eBay sets had 30% flow variation across the injectors and maxed out at around 320cc. The Amazon ones were around 400cc and only about 5% flow variation but atomization was poor and was a single jet only not dual cone.

I have a set of injectors coming from Rock Auto this week so will let you know how they test out.

All injectors are benchmarked against a genuine Bosch 028 0156 063.

Cheers Paul

Righto, small update. The injectors that I purchased from Rock where the ULTRA-POWER FJ896 which are listed as being the equiv of the Bosch injector for the Audi TT with the 165kw engine. They were well balanced but didn't meet the flow rate required to match the Bosch. The came back around 300cc which is for the lower spec 125kw engine. The part numbers checked out so not really sure what happened.

I decided to try a set of the JCW knock offs from Amazon. I got 2 sets. First set had one dead injector. Flow was all over the place even after cleaning them in the ultra sonic bath. Second set were still down on flow compared to the Bosch, probably similar to the standard 340cc injectors but there was still at least a 10% flow variation across the set. So they are going back. I have test 8 sets of injectors from multiple suppliers and none have come up to spec across the board in terms of flow, spray pattern and variance across the set.

My advice is use these at your own peril, the car might run and it might be close enough that you can't tell the difference but unless you have them tested to make sure they are within 2% variation across the set you are asking for trouble.

I have decided to just go with a set of genuine Bosch injectors ( 028 0156 063) with the knowledge that they are fit for purpose.

Cheers
Paul
