Big brake kit and rims fitment , NOT STOCK RIMS OR SUSPENSION.
Car is an 04 mcs with rev9 #2 coilovers ( lowered not slammed ) , adjustable control arms front N rear , stock sway bars and stock brakes also have adjustable tiered ends and front caster camber plates but they're set almost to stock setup.
Ok. So I was running 15x8 et20 with 205/55r15 tires and they poked out past the fenders abit so I bought and am having miniuk wider fenders molded onto the car.
I took my car racing last season and bought a set of 225 proxies but on those 15x8 rims they were way too wide so I sold the rims and tires and am starting over again BUT I have new needs.
id prefer same offset ect but 16s as i have 2x 225/45 firehawk indy tires already
my rims need to be able to clear a big brake upgrade.i really want the package pictured below BUT if you guys feel there's a better performing and priced kit lmk. If I haaaaaaave to run 16s with this setup , that would be acceptable not ideal..but either way my cars come back soon so this time I'm planning , because I need a brake upgrade asap in my car.
also is it really really needed to upgrade the brake master? I swear I read others don't and say it's fine but that might be r56 upgrade
You'll get some good poke with those wheels. If you are dead set on those wheels, I would suggest getting them before deciding on brake kit. Get the wheels in hand, then check all the brake templates to see how big you can go. The bigger the rotors, the more heat capacity you'll have for track duty.

when you say templates, like the manufacturer will have a diagram of where it all sits in the well with measurements and such ?
when I was running 205 tires on the 15x8s et20s WITH a 5mm spacer they poked out past the stock fenders about .5in only so with my widerflares they should be pretty even then.
Yes. Wilwood has “Clearance Templates” for their brake kits.
Here is an example: https://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/Br...uding+Cooper+S
Scroll down and you’ll see a template showing the cross section of the caliper and rotor. You would use that template to see how the brake kit will fit your wheels.

awesome ! my 2x new tires arrived today and my new rims will be here tomorrow.. I was looking at an lsd but with where my cars at it needs brakes far far more than something to make it faster ( though lsd comes next). Even with drilled n slotted rotors , ceramic pads and ss flex lines and dot4 high performance fluid. after literally 1x decent braking , the brakes already begin suffering from brake fade. And being an amateur on the track which I plan on hitting this season , I'm gonna need the biggest best brakes I can fit,lol.. I will learn better as times goes on

Rims and tires arrived and I test fit a rim and they fit perfect but unfortunately the spiked lugs they sold me ARE EXTENDED lugs so I can't use them. I should be getting my car back in about a week so once the new tires n rims are on I will look further into that template and chime back in.
thx for the help so far !
WOW , THESE RIMS WEIGH NOOOOOOOTHING. Lol I can pick one up,in the box with my pinky. If I remember correctly they weighed 11.8lb per rim which wasn't the lightest I could find BUT for the size and offset I needed it was and by about 5lb lighter too .
Those wheels are sweet! (What brand/specs?) I like the lightweight option. I need to follow this thread as I am looking to do something similar.
I am running R81 Holey's on my04S. I wanted to swap to R56S brakes like on my other S, but I want to keep the light wheels. The lighter wheels make a significant difference in making the car feel lighter and more nimble.

Maybe if yours fit, I may have some options...
if you wanna know if these would clear r56 brakes I cam just go piece a rim onto my buddies r56 to check clearances if youd like..
No rush or anything. Still putting bits and pieces together. Picked up another set of R84 X-lite's that WILL fit but they're about 6 lbs heavier than the Holey's.
Side note: Just curious why looking for the huge brakes? I was thinking the R56S are pretty decent-especially for the price.

I'm gonna be a noob once I track the car so I want the best brakes possible as I'm sure I'm gonna be working them hard. I've built up the rest of the car and with its power level, when I drove r56's , yes there brakes for sure are much better , I still feel like they may not be enough. For just typical road use they'd be good BUT I do wanna get this car on the track a few times. It's close to being ready so once it is I will hit the 1/4mile and see what I can pull that in and then I really REALLY wanna race on road America during an armature event but I will atleeeeeeeeast do a few runs with my friend and the local little autoX crew and ille hopefully not kill too many cones learning my cars limits.
