ECS Turning - R53 Helix Union Jack Tail Lights

Hello all! Been trying to search around the forum for a review of these tail lights but have been unsuccessful so decided to create a thread and see if there's any information (quality, feedback, performance) out there. Any information and feedback as always, is appreciated!

I bought mine from Orranje when I was in the UK this summer and they are amazing. Totally makes the car look so much better and make it look like a new model. Im guessing that they get them from the same supplier but im not sure about that. The quality of mine were equivalent to oem. A few days after I installed them, I hit a bump and one came unplugged so I would make sure they are plugged in all the way as I have hit several bumps and there totally fine.

Is the strangely shaped white patch in the outside lower corners in the photo just a reflection from really bad photography, or is that the way they actually appear?

from other pictures that appears to just be a terrible glare in the picture.

They are not that bad, back in the day the euro clears and oem lights were $$$

Only option back then aftermarket were like the spec D tuning and the other JDM style ones that are nla. Those ones looked like something from a Mid 90's JDM car. Not something that would go on MINI, maybe a Civic or Nissan Altima

These are the clear ones. I love them and prefer them over the ones with the red tint

It looks like smoked is the only option for pre-facelift cars. Is that correct? I'd much rather have red.

Thanks for the feedback! Wow! These look great! After looking into the clear more I think I prefer these ones over the red. The red might be too much red for my Chili Red R53 and this might just be what it needs to break it up a little. Appreciate your feedback!

So they have both options for both pre/post face lift models, although both are considered "smoked." You can get either the smoked red (which I have pictured above), or smoked black (which is shown on the white R53 above.)

That'd be great if you have the time! No complaints otherwise though? Install easy? Doesn't cause any issues moving from the regular bulbs to LEDs? (lights on dash or anything)

Its a plug and play system. No issues. Bolts right in with no fitment issues. No lights on dash but it if it is not plugged in all the way then the indicators will start flashing quickly on the inside while not flashing on the outside. I have R52 and Im just waiting until I have enough $ to go purchase another set.

my specD taillights caused "hyper flash" when I'd hit my blinkers..you can instsll simple 10$ registers that are made specifically to stop it..

Yes, I added the center backup lamp and switch. Way programmed the ECU to work the switch. We are moving to rural Montana and I wanted to see what was behind and in front of me. 🥴

Well for a close up of this thread - ended up going with the black/smoked version and couldn't be happier. Think it looks great on the R53 in Chili Red. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback.

Just an update, we got the red one back in stock in our Ziza brand.

We no longer carry helix as that company no longer exist. But we do have Ziza ones now.
