R50/53 Name this sensor majiggy thing

Name this sensor majiggy thing

Was replacing the passenger side engine mount ( mission failed , lol long story ) but anyways I found this sensor just hanging in behind the tire area behind by the connectors for the running lights and stuff.. anyways here's a Pic. I knowtice it seems like its a pressure switch , it can be depressed and it clicks a button.. what the ???

Hood latch warning switch.
That Clips into the back side of the passenger hood latch.
