Figure i might as well replace this sensor before I put everything back together for a 100th time to find i gotta take it apart to replace something simple.

No. This is attached to the block...underneath the waterpump
crank position sensor ????
EDIT: Finally found it after that crossed my mind, yes it is a crank sensor and that is now ordered also to be replaced with my knock sensor..

The o-ring fails far more often than the sensor. I’ve gone through 2 in the last 30K. Well, anytime the car is that far apart I change the o-ring prophylactically.

The one attached around the sensor ???
hope my car is FINALLY running correctly after this head n cam swap, chasing down these kinks is annoying. I wanna just wail on her and try on my buddies Hoosiers

Yep, crank position sensor. Swap out the ring if you have never done that, as they will leak oil. You need to remove the sensor by removing the 1 nut and wiggling it out.
