For that kind of money, I wouldn't buy a mini. It looks very well done, and I can't argue with the cost of good work. But, there are plenty of other vehicles I would pick instead.
My biggest gripe with the new mini interior is actually lack of real gauges. Give me actual information - not an idiot light or idiot gauge. And, if I didn't have the digital speedometer in front of me in the tach, I think I would have to switch to the dual pods that came with the chrono pack or nav. I'm still torn over my p3 gauge. It blends into the interior well, but the placement is less than ideal. The feature set is also inferior to something like an Aeroforce, which I probably should have bought instead. /offtopic rant
Its like the radford MINI kind of price. Saw the people from Radford at Sema and they i trying to bring them back. I dont know if the Radford MINI will ever come back. They were with Ant from wheeler dealer.

Dude.
Why'd you mention that Aeroforce?
Now I want one dammit!
I went with a ScanGauge and placement is rather ridiculous in my application, decided to stuck it under the euro parcel shelf, and it's okay I guess for the quick glance down...
...but I'd much rather have something like the Aeroforce as it'd be easier to incorporate to a more visible location.
Any idea on what size they are?
I couldn't find out with quick search, standard 52mm or 60mm or something other?
The P3 gauge I have is in the vent to the right of the driver, which is partially obscured by the steering wheel. It also doesn't have alarms, which I think the Aeroforce does. Don't quote me on that though.
Those old Escorts are really cool, especially sideways on a rally stage.
The two cars that always seem to come up on my shortlist are a 20-valve-swapped Ur-quattro and the Porsche 993 (or possibly a 964). Unfortunately, prices for both have crept up quite a bit in the last 15 years. I still think I'll be able to nab myself a 996 or at the very least an early Boxster in the future. Practically, I don't know if I want to deal with the headaches of acquiring parts for two orphaned Audis. One is bad enough.
"With a reported 224 Sport quattros made for Group B homologation, this is a very rare car. Examples of those that went to auction have fetched prices around $500,000USD. "
The sport Quattro is pretty cool, too, though I’ve always thought it looked a bit odd with the shortened wheelbase. I suppose I’m more used to seeing the original Quattros and Coupes.
Is that Stratos one of the ones built on a Ferrari chassis or something?
A bit off topic; but deepgrey what kind of condition is your Chevy Sport van in?
Being a classic VW enthusiast - I had a 67 Bus. The Chevy Sport van kind of reminded me of the bus.
I always wanted one - I had an Idea to turn one into a mini 3 axle, cab over. Could never find a junker though.
Saw that car on Drivetribe. I could be wrong but the number I recall is $140K, though other David Brown Minis can be had for "only" $100K. It would be tempting if I had a spare $100K laying around. Of course, it's easy to say that when the money isn't at hand.
