03 xenon headlights only work with switching on multiple times.
I have a 03 s with factory xenon headlights. The passenger only works if you switch it on multiple times. Sometimes it won't come on, Sometimes its takes a good 15 mins of switching on and off. I know this is bad to do. What's the issue anyone? Whats the cheapest route to go with the factory xenon? Let's? Hid conversion? Any help is more then appreciated. I gotta get this fixed.. thanks
Sounds like either a bad bulb or a bad igniter.
The igniter is the small box/cube that the bulb plugs into.
I would first try swapping either the bulb from side to side to see if it changes anything. If so it's obviously a bulb and they are cheap online (replace the pair so that the colors match, different mfg's temp colors are slightly different)
If the swap does nothing, it's the igniter/ballast (the igniter it's built into the ballast) which can get expensive because "OEM".
It may even be cheaper to go with a completely different housing and aftermarket HID kit for both lights, if you can't find junkyard or used.

My '03 had a similar issue, and there was no problem with the ballast or ignitor. On the early cars the ignitor can't be replaced unless the light itself is dismantled (see the Joey Mod). I ended up buying a complete unit on Amazon or Ebay for big bucks. You may have more luck buying a good used unit from sellers on NAM or switching to different light units on both sides. Best of luck!
