R53 xenon Headlights to Projectors

Sorry if this has already been mentioned in the past. I wasn't able to find info that answered my question.

I have a 2004 Mini with the factory Xenon headlights with HID. I was looking to change to the projectors. However before purchasing I noticed comments stating they won't work with xenons. What are my options? Are there and direct plug and play versions?

I have an 02 that didn't come with Xenons. First I switched to factory xenons, then went to factory projectors. Both worked fine with no modifications needed.

We have the Helix projectors ones here and they are for halogen projectors from the factory.

But , If you want to get a Xenon kit elsewhere and pair them up its possible, as they do have the cutoff E code for the projector low beam.

More info here:

So you mentioned a cutoff. Why is that needed? Will I be able to use them without it? And will it still be HID

If you mount aftermarket ( third party ) xenons universal retrofit kits into projectors without the correct cut off, you will blind oncoming traffic the Helix ones we carry have the correct cut off. Take an H7 halogen bulb, you will have to find a xenon kit that uses a H7 base. we dont carry those.

Good luck.

If you are going from OEM xenons to aftermarket non HID projectors, you will be downgrading

Actually what I want to do is go from Orem xenon to HID Projectors. Just being hearing from vendors that it's not plug and play. And that they may not work
