R50/53 Trailer Hitch for Cooper S
David,
The only option I have found is a Class I hitch from Rogue Engineering but it appears to require their exhaust. I would also recommend calling our friends at MINI-Madness to see if they may have options or know of options coming available. Tell them that you heard about them on minicooperonline.com.
Mark
PS - I'll also query some other hitch manufacturers to ask about their plans to support the Cooper and Cooper S. I'll post more information as I receive meaningful information.

Rogue Engineering requires that you install an exhaust system that has been designed by them.
To my knowledge there are no manufacturers yet. I have sent an email to a dealership in England to see if they have developed a hitch.
Cheers, david

If you do a search in the forums, someone posted up a link to some PFD documents which are the dealer directions on how to retro-fit a MINI with factory parts (headlights, radio, etc) and included was a removeable 'towbar'... the Retrofit / Installation kit No. is 70 60 0 140 640 ... It only shows a MC in the diagrams, but i'd still check it out...

I was just looking at the plethera (did I spell that right?) of MCS stuff listed on EBAY, and noticed a custom fabricated trailer hitch designed for the MCS. It is item number 1872868308. It comes from NY and appears to have been designed and fabricated by a company that builds race cars. There is a photo of the installation as well as of the whole unit. Cost for the item is $325.00 plus shipping and sales tax if you are in NY. I don't know how well it will work, says it is designed for 100 lb tounge/1000 trailer load. It is not a receiver type hitch, so I don't know if/how a bike rack would mount to it. Since they are a custom fabricator, you may be able to get them to design a receiver hitch if you have a bike rack you want to attach to your MCS.
Indy,
Just curious...what to you plan on......hauling  ?
Can these little marvels really perform...in the "watch me drag this stuff department
?

I'm not actually planning on getting one. We have a larger vehicle for hauling stuff. I just happened to notice this hitch on EBAY and remembered reading a thread about someone looking for one. I can't imagine anyone using one for more than mounting a bike rack on.
