Questions for Sprintrex V2 owners: Please comment on your experience!!

Hey guys-

I’m considering getting the sprintrex kit, but have a few questions that hopefully some owners of the gen 2 (S5-210) can help me clear up.

I know the first fen sprintrex kits had issues but it appears that some (or hopefully all) of them have been cleared up in the 2’nd gen. Maybe not though... hopefully some owners can help me (and anyone else searching the forums later) out!

1) How many miles have you put on the kit?
2) Have you had issues with your water pump? Leaks, or failures?
3) What size pulley are you running? Stock is 70mm I believe.
4) Have you had issues with belt slippage? Or any other issues with the tensioner malfunctioning?
5) Are you happy with your purchase and would you recommend the upgrade?

I know there is an aftermarket tensioner kit (expensive, and some people claim it requires removing the crank pulley...) and also an oil breather plug, both available from bytetronik, but I’m curious if the only people who run into this belt slippage issue are running super small pulleys. I have an ATI +2% crank and would probably run the 64-66mm at most.

Before you all jump in and recommend the TVS kit, I will say that I’m already considering that one as well. However... the sprintrex is attractive to me because 1) It is CARB legal (I live in CA), 2) It’s cheaper 3) it’s more readily available 4) It will run without needing a tune and 5) The kit seems more clean and well made than harrop’s TVS kit (in my opinion).

If the sprintrex still has major issues, I’ll suck it up and go TVS900. But if there are people out there who have had good experiences with the sprintrex, please speak up!!

-Dave

imo I really like the alta tensioner as you can set the belt as tight as you want and pick up ANY slippage that might happen..
