supercharger upgrade?????

ok i wanted to make this for 2 reasons.....

when will the TVS r900 be ready

and is the jackson racing M45 better or worse than our eaton M45????
i wonder can someone get me straight???

i also saw that people had done some M62 swaps i know they are quite big for the 1.6L
but if one were to put like a 19% reduction pulley and maybe a smaller crank pulley would the M62 work....i read the full 64page thread on it and on the last few pages it seems like everything just got dropped dead which blows lol
im very curious for the charger upgrade if anything can be done!

and yes im aware that in changing the charger i would have to go to an electrical water pump and thats fine by me!

Don't hold your breath for the TVS900 to be released any time soon if at all....

As for other options

RMW do a rotrex kit however they were not the first to offer this AMD in the UK had a rotex kit as part of their stage 7 kit years ago...however the UK version of the kit never took off due to costs and other issues....

As for the M62 there were several conversions years ago, however recently Mynes and Hubie had another crack and initial results looked promising.
http://www.minitorque.com/forum/145832-post39.html

Adam from minimania UK (who is no longer affliliated with minimania) had an opcon supercharger kit but this was never "officially" released last I heard he had it on his shelf but it is for sale still.... http://www.minitorque.com/forum/40596-post2.html

RMS also used to offer an opcon kit that put out pretty decent power - however you guessed it no longer available
http://www.rms-tuning.com/cms/index....d=39&Itemid=58

Think that is about it.......

Read this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...?highlight=tvs. Scroll through for talk on the Eaton TVS. There is another link to an older thread I posted to about the TVS. Basically... don't hold your breath. MINIs and only one other car came with the M45, so a desire to make an aftermarket supercharger is not very high.

i read that about the SL55 while reading a project thread
the kid had his R53 completly done up in about 8 months
was a dark siler and black theme

100+pages read and loved em all lol!

and ya this is kinda gay about the chargers....
I will not go turbo lol...NEVER

im trying to make my newly bought R53 into a little kind of autox'er and a fun dailey driver! its my dailey always.

basicly i run the streets as if i autox anyway lol so might as well get her setup right....
anyone here with expeirence in it??
ive got a few things id like to ask and run by you to see if its smart or not to do.....

and if mike or hubbie could chime in here on the m62 conversion
im mainly trying to get more tq. lol
i honestly cant say i care for the horsepower number tq is what gets me going
and i know that intake and such work net more hp over tq!

my plans are basicly the TPR-2 or TPR-1 its undecided as we are discussing which would best suit me.
NS1 cam
porting intake mani.
OBX header w/ custom straight through! (2 1/4 into 2 1/2 piping to try and sqeeze some more tq....batterys been relocated
Dave F. hybrid intake
bosch OE 550cc injectors
ddm air diverter
fx300 & 13lb fidanza flywheel
water/meth injection

as a basic to get things rolling...
theres gonna bit a more suspension mods and bracing and some wieght reduction...
like i said the car is gonna be mountain raced (when appropriate) and autox'ed for fun. so classes dont both me much!

k.w, be patient. Very soon, it will be a twinscrew supercharge available on the market for the 1.6l. It's a matter of time.

And one bit of info...if you run a big SC like the M62, you actually need to run a oversized pulley...not a reduction to reduce its output. This is actually good, because you will make less heat, but still have a good volume....many of the folks that did initial testing ran a pulley that was too small, and made too much air for our small motors...just remember, with any conversion, you will likely need an electric water pump too.... I think Helix experimented a bit with the M62....but RMW should have a new one soon....

well guys sad to say but i traded the R53 already:/

me being a noob to say the least
i didnt even check out the R56... its torque numbers are impressive.
will a few mods i plan on doing ill have more than enough torque and they kinda sound like a scubbie lol!

plans: PnP head,3" downpipe & exhaust,intake,retune,water/meth injection,Bosch 550 OE injectors...(and MAYBE a 35-50 shot)
alot more these are just what comes to mind i already started ordering parts!

the r56 is way less sporty to me then the r53:/
but i plan on KW variant 2 coilovers and quite a few other extensive mods to get it right...
all in all imma torque guy and i dont think the R53 could produce what i wanted.... (massive torue lol)

heres a thread if you can look it over and either pm me or reply on that thread....

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-it-worth.html

let me know if it can be done safelty? and what you would do to change it if not?
(such as spray & meth injection) and if the parts i added are the best of the best or is there better?

totally agreed on the driving experience
ive already stated that the R53 felt more lively to me way more sporty...

with the r56 i plan on getting the major suspension things done right away!
then the engine and trans....

also i went for the 550cc's because of this here

the R56 is a direct injection engine, those injectors will not work on the R56

2nd if you knew what was coming for the R53 you never would have sold your car for a turbo........just my .02

you can make more torque in a R53 than you can ever use.......

well kinda late now lol i made a few threads when i had the R53 and couldnt get to much info on it

now ive got a R56 and im more happy with the motor
i just gotta do some suspension work and ill be completly happy...

and theres not a supercharger swap KIT out for em..so thats kinda gay!
with the r56 with some bolt ons, meth injection and maybe a little spray i can get far more than what i could of in the R53 from my understanding and get better MPG doing it lol.

so nots all lost in my book and from what i had planed price wise for the R53 it was a little more than what ihave planed for the R56...and ill have more power/torque so win win i guess!
i plan on coming to either you or mynes for a tune...right now leaning your way from all the great feed back i hear...

can you check out this thread for me though and kinda walk me through what i should do...
