R50/53 Why do so many people on MCO own more than one MINI?

I've been noticing several different people with multiple MINIs and was wondering why this seems to be somewhat common. Is it the (relatively) low price, change of heart (MC vs. MCS?), desire for the '03 in place of the '02, or what?
