How did NYillustrator drop 27000 bucks and not get an MCS? Maybe they'll put a blower on it while they fix the tranny.

Well, it is possible. If you add the CVT, NAV, Leather, Sport Susp. Plus, Xenons, Park Distance Control, and chrome bumpers onto all three packages - no metallic paint though - (and maybe one or two other things I've forgotten since placing my order last March....)

It adds up. Plus, he appears to have the driving lights - which if they were dealer installed at delivery would be included in the cost. Who knows what other dealer installed options were included... CD Changer? etc.

Not at all unlikely. My MC wasn't quite that much, but I, too, could have gotten an MCS with a few options for what I paid. There were just other factors to consider....

It does add up fast. I did not realize a non S could get so expensive. I was out the door for under 25k plus 6% sales tax. That was everything but Nav sys., and I opted for the cool, but way way overpriced rally lights from the dealer.

Glad that you brought up the $27000 price tag for a non-S from the earlier locked post. Not going to say anything more than the fact that I noticed it also

I've seen a Cooper'S' just a little over $43K(CDN) at one dealer other than the one I dealt with. Was totally optioned out to the max though. With a $3100 Nav system for example, it can add up quick. Then like already stated, other dealer add ons, like say an aero kit or something, kicks it up even more. Pricey little buggers they are. But fun.
Cheers,

and vented his very LARGE SPLEEN

I hope he will re-consider before he goes off on MINI everywhere...that is just too sour to be believed!

At $27,000, he surely has a Mini loaded to his specifications. I also think he is angry, and is reacting like it. Where else would he find to vent his frustrations but here. It's the only place where one would find as many owners together. I know a great deal of peoople who get angry and "lash" out once they feel hurt. I don't think he's upset with anyone here..but instead, he's looking for empathy.

I was a little surprised at the tone NYIll used in his post, but he has a right to be upset. He bought a new car and it is now broken. I think he is just young and handled it in an immature fashion. We were all young once too. (I am only 31, so not exactly geriatric either! ) Sorry, that was totally off of this topic.

WERE YOU AT THE DEALERSHIP WHEN I FILLED OUT MY ORDER?!!!!

Seriosuly, modifying the Mini is half of the fun. Look at the proliferation of flags, mod kits, etc.

However, it sounds like NYIllustartor bought REALLY early and paid a premium for being the first on the road with the Mini. Too bad he inherited introduction year problems.
