Should I replace waterpump / what else?

Happy New Year everyone . I have an R53 mini s with 144000 miles ,15%pully ,2%crank ,CAI, WMW non reson exhaust . My clutch went out Christmas day and since the best price I found for labor only charges is 1300 Im going to do it myself using the Valeo kit . While its apart I thought Id replace oil pan gasket ,valve cover gasket ,rear main seal , trans shaft seal . Im also going to port and polish the TB .

My question is should I mess with the water pump ? no leaks or issues currently . Anything else I should do while its apart ?
Thanks in advance

Actually for overlap with the clutch job I would do the front powerflex control arm bushings

steering rack bushing
https://www.waymotorworks.com/powerf...k-bushing.html
sway bar bushings

and any ball joints that are worn. Since the subframe will be out these are all very easy. Also power steering lines will be easy.

I would also do the guide tube on trans

clutch fork kit
https://www.waymotorworks.com/clutch...-cooper-s.html
New trans oil

and if the budget will allow this is the perfect time to do a quaife LSD

It's a little out of your way to do the water pump if your main project is the clutch. I'd consider the water pump whenever you decide to service the supercharger.
Definitely do everything Way mentioned though. A complete refresh of the subframe is very easy to do once you've dropped it and pretty affordable. The underside of mine has never been so clean since I swapped out the p/s lines.

Best water pump life I ever managed to get out of a water pump was 172K miles. Periodic -- every 4 years or so -- coolant drains and refills with fresh coolant helps prolong the water pump's life. In this case the pump didn't leak it just got noisy. Bearings wore out. The replacement pump was fine when I sold the car 145K miles later.

In the case of your car, the water pump could have another nearly 30K miles (or more) of life left or it could fail tomorrow.

Depending upon how much "extra" work it would be to replace the water pump I'd be inclined to do it now. I'm generally not a fan of premature component replacement but if the water pump replacement can be covered by the "while you are there" rule...

If you replace the water pump be sure to replace the T-stat too. And drain the cooling system and refill with a correct blend of the right anti-freeze and distilled water.
