R53

Hello everyone,

I am located in the Austin, TX area and have an 06 MCS that I need to get rid of. It hasn't ran in about 2 years after I let it sit for 6 months or so. I have replaced the starter, ignition switch, battery and tried a new key. Nothing works. It is in fairly good shape, and has a number of after market parts. Does anyone know of anyone in central Texas that buys Minis for parts or as a project car? I am moving and need to get it out of my garage to sell my house. Thanks for your help!

You described the condition in which I purchased my R53. If the engine turns over really slow, or not at all, I'd recommend removing the drive belt and check if the alternator spins freely. In my case, the alternator was seized causing the engine to turn over super slow or not at all. After removing the belt, it started right away.

Or, if you're done with it and just want to send it away, post an ad here in the for sale section. Lower prices produce faster sales. You could deal with Craigslist, or donate it to Mother Waddles for as a taxable donation.
