My idle is at about 1800 RPM. If I turn off the AC it drops to a normal speed. Turn the AC back on it stays low. If I rev it with AC on it will go back to the high idle.

Ideas?

PS This problem started after I replaced the alternator which solved my charging problem. I cannot find any loose hoses, dipstick etc....
