Hi guys,
so im about to do a coolant flush when i see a red cable coming out of the cables of my alternator. Now it seemed like it was taped across the fans leading upwards towards the fuse box but its actually just sitting there. Like its been disconnected.
And for the past couple of months I cannot get any readings from my obd connections.
Iv’e taken the mini to several mechanics and they all couldn’t figure it out.
So my question here is, does that red cable go somewhere?

Yeah it looks like its just tapped into the white and green cable.

 

That red wire is not stock....remove it and re-tape the wires at the alternator.....

As far as your issue with the OBD II connector not giving you any data.....check your fuses, check your connector under the dash for bent or missing pins

so i removed and taped the cable up, checked for any blown fuses and they all were good :/
any ideas?

I'm guessing that is where someone tapped for a volt gauge or something similar.
