R50/53 Xenon lense removal for R53

Xenon lense removal for R53

Does anyone know how to remove the a Xenon headlight lense on a R53 MIni Cooper ,because I want to get behind the lense to detail headlight plus remove the moisture streaks? Thanks...

Around the outside of the lens you’ll see some black glue. Carefully heat it and push a flat blade screwdriver in.

Work your way around heating and prying until the lens separates from the housing.

Careful you don’t apply too much heat.

Putting it back together can be a pain to line up, so take your time.

Do you use a heat gun or oven to heat the Xenon unit ? Thanks...

I used a heat gun. Making sure not to get to close to distort anything.
