This is tempting, even though my MCS (that I'm picking up Friday - yay!) is an '05. I know there were some changes in the '05s. How different are they from the '02-'04s? (The Bentley manual says '02-'04.)

Does anyone know if Bentley has plans to expand this version to include '05s, or to come out with a separate '05 and later edition?

I think I'll probably wait for an updated edition. Though this price sure is tempting!

And I bet you sleep better at night not giving Walmart any dough!
Wish more people would wake up an realize they are feeding a monster that is going to change their way of life.

Anyway, what do you think of the book? Any good?

What's the difference in getting it from Amazon or Walmart? Either way you're feeding the monster that's going to change your way of life.

Not only that, but there aren't even any low-paying Amazon jobs in most towns.

Supply and demand. So you are saying that I have to pay 50% extra for the Bentley MINI manual, so not to feed the "Monster".

Gimme a break dude!

Do a google search on "wal mart" and you'll find many discussions on the topic.

I'm sold on not shopping at wal-mart anymore.

Regardless of where you purchase it, the Bentley manual is AWESOME! It's well-worth investing in one to have for your baby!

I like the Bentley manual. I got mine from Amazon as well. It's very detailed and a cool to read--but it's thicker than a phone book. Some areas aren't detailed enough IMO. I really wish there was a book on aftermarket installations. That would be cool. That is, the Bentley shows you how to fix what's on the MINI and in some places replace what's existing--but let's say you want to add a Sway Bar, there won't be info.

While of course, you would get that info from the aftermarket dealer, it still would be cool to have a book that encompassed how MINI users both maintained AND modified their cars. =)

Maybe I'm just dreaming, or maybe I'm dreaming about a book containing all the aftermarket instruction manuals spiral bound for my coffee table/bathroom reading pleasure!

Thanks for the info. Was holding out waiting for the price to go down, but now since our dealer here has taken an attitude towards working on modded cars it is an alternative to "bad service' .

Thanks for saving me some $$.

At least this way I know who to blame, and won't get a run around.

Wallmart is destroying mom-and-pop retailing in America! Because of the buying power, Wallmart can retail a bicycle cheaper than a small bike shop can purchase at wholesale! Ouch for retailers; good for consumers, bad for (?)

Amen! The folks that are confused don't know enough about them; right down to the fact that manufacturers have to ask them first before developing a new product (i.e.: consumer products companies). If WM says no, why bother making it. WM is China's biggest customer; the "all American" image was ditched years ago.

Those voting with their dollars at WM are going to regret it down the road in salary, health benfits, freedom of buying choice, destroyed towns......
But hey! this is a Mini board!

Sorry for the rant.

Red
