Exhaust pop from an auto r52

hello to all. I have heard videos of R53 and R52 with nice exhaust notes that have good pops and crackles. My S r52 has the factory exhaust and I barely hear it. What do you recommend for an exhaust that makes some of those noises more palpable? I don’t know if having an Auto transmisión is the reason I don’t hear it as much when I am driving.

Thanks.

I have a @005 R 52, auto, with a Miltec exhaust and it sounds great. The exhaust note is more pronounced if you drive in sport mode.

Sport mode

hello.

Thanks for for the reply. I was looking in the direction of that brand. One thing I need to ask, there is no sport mode in my r52s. Are you referring to the shifter in the M/s position?

thanks.

Depending on the year of your MINI, the one-ball exhaust mod will provide you with a bit louder exhaust note (particularly on a convertible) without being obnoxious. It also eliminates around 30lbs. of weight, creates an additional 1-2hp, and is cheap to do.

For sure going to a Milltek exhaust will give you some sound and should get some more pops as the ECU is what does the pops, but the exh will amplify it a bit.
The Milltek is the only exhaust properly engineered to fit the cabrio also, but you will gain torque from it which is another plus.

The resonated version is the quieter one, but if you really want to get more sound the non res will get you even more.
