What is this hose?

After driving home yesterday, I noticed a trail of water leading into the garage. I traced it to a leak under the engine. It's coming out of the end of a black hose, towards the rear, passenger side of the engine. (pic hopefully attached) If it's some sort of overflow, ok fine, but I'm curious why it would decide to start overflowing now. I changed the battery right before this (and didn't reconnect its tiny little hose), but other than that, nothing's changed recently.

I could believe that it's AC condensation, if it was summer, but it was 47 degrees last evening.

Dark, wet tip of hose is nearly in center of photo. The picture is from underneath the passenger door, looking forwards. The photo is rotated 180 for some reason.

Yes that is the ac evaporator drain tube. No worries if it’s dripping water.

Yes it's the Evaporator drain. If you are using the defrost remember the A/C compressor runs so you can get it dripping.
