Tires and wheels

Ok, ditched the run flats on 2015 Mini Cooper S convertible. Went with Discount Tire's Continental Contact Sport 205/45/17. Ride is much better, but damn! They are LOUD! Looking for the quietest tire I can find. These are noiser than the run flats. I have about a week left to swap them for something else. Any recommendations? I had Goodyear Comforter add years ago, and they were good. I don't drive aggressively (most of the time), just looking for a tire that doesn't sing so loudly. I have Cooper ATPs on my truck, and they are very quiet. I know a convertible is inherently louder than a hard top, bit these Continentals are VERY noisy. Help!

I have 205/45/17 MICHELIN PILOT SPORT A/S 3 PLUS https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tir...3-plus/p/25910 on my 08 S Clubman and love them.
If they are noisy, then I don't notice it.
They have an 8.5/10 rating for noise on tirerack.com

Even better -
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in 215/45/17 if you do
summer and winter sets rather than all seasons.
If you do need winters get GOOD WINTER tires
like Blizzaks or x-ice xi3s and don’t worry about the
noise for 4 months a year.

Love my 215/45-17 Pilot Sport A/S 3+ year round. Also run them on E36 M3 convertible and 993 C4.

When we had to replace the wheels on my kid’s car, I selected a budget brand that has a good bang for the buck.

Compared to the howling Cooper RS3-A tires that came off, the Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 were quiet and grippy. This car does not see snow, so that capability was not something I focused on. Over the last 8K miles they have continued to be quiet and grippy.

It’s a great commuter choice if that’s something you’re looking for.

What year are those Continental Contact Sports? I run Continental Pro Contact SSR (Run Flats) on mine and I think they are the best they have made in years. Quite and grippy. Granted the Continental Extreme Contact Sports I run on my Porsche make some noise, but the car is far louder than my MINIs so I really don't hear the noise.

But YOU have to be happy with them. I asked about what year they are because the 2018 tires were so much better than the previous few years. I spent about an hour talking with the Continental Tire Rep at last years IMSA races, describing the change I have noticed, he verified they did make some changes.

Motor On!

I'm on my second set of Hankook Ventus V2 tires. They are very quiet, have great grip, and last much longer than any other tire I've tried.....and they are pretty cheap compared to some other tires. They are a performance "touring" type tire vs. the high performance summer tires......so they are designed to be quite, and last a while.

Still a fan of these tires? I'm looking at a similar set. $352 all-in for the four tires. I'm in Las Vegas so winter handling not much of a concern. With 162,000 on the car, trying to avoid buying expensive tires that outlive the vehicle.

The tires are nice but I just replaced mine and didn't even get 10K miles out of the set but I was driving the car like I was on the track almost every time I drove it, plus they are directional so you cannot properly rotate them without paying each time to have tires remounted. I like the Road Huggers I got from Discount Tire, which is their house brand made by Nitto. They have a 50K warranty and handle quite well, not quite as good as the Ventus V2s but they are predictable and I don't really need to be taking turns all out anyway. This tire seems to be a really nice compromise for the money and the wet traction is great.
