Arch trim problem

When I bought my 2005 S I lost the drivers side wheel Arch trim . I ordered the cheap one off e bay and it didn't fit right. This is the one on the hood. I found one off a junker that was the original one had tgt nut and bolt on the first mounting point. Fits the same way. It does not fit at thefendr too low about a 1/4" lower than the fender . What gives? Thanks for any help.

It will be hard to help without actually seeing where the problem lies. Is it the section at the top of the hood or at the bottom near the bumper? 1/4 inch is not much. Can you bend it into position? Has the car been in a fender bender that may have been repaired incorrectly? I know from experience that after market body parts, especially the cheap ones, don’t always line up correctly.

This is the problem . The hood lines up well no sign of body damage. I got this trim off a junker it is original. The one that fell off the car did line up well. Not sure what's going on.

Was the junked wrecked in the area where the trim was? If trim gets distorted and stays in that position for a while it can take on a set that is hard to remove. Could be you just got a bad trim that isn’t correct. Have you tried forcing it into position?

Are all of the clips intact? MINI sells the clips at a reasonable price. Attach the clips to the fender, line everything up, and push it into place!

I did get new clips. I have two fender Arch trim. Both fit the same way . I almost lost the other side. I used new clips on that and no problem , lined up perfect. The clips go into the trim and tthe trim snaps into the fender. Thanks

Well it’s definitely not all the way in place. Maybe taking it off and lining it up without clips to see if it will line up properly before putting the clips in place. Sort of a dry run. If it lines up without clips it should go on with them in place. That’s about all I can offer without being there. You never know what you get when you get parts off a junker.

I was hoping someone else had this problem. That's why I posted. At some point I'll get a OEM parts and see if that works. Thanks for all your help. A Curtis
