R/C Mini toy at RadioShack

Anyone own this? http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...t%5Fid=60-4399 It's a radio-controlled mini Mini that the Shack sells for only 20 bucks.

Thinking about putting it on my Xmas list (I'd have to paint it hyper blue of course) but was wondering if anyone knew of any other retailer that sells R/C Minis.

I have an R/C MINI that looks very similar to that.. only I got it at another store. I think it is probably the exact same car. It is ok.. but nothing great.

A better one, is the little one that you can get from Toys R Us. It is small.. but faster than the bigger one that you are showing, and it has working lights too. (and you can get different colored bodies for it. Works best on kitchen or smooth floors. Not really good for pavement since it is so light and small.

Here is a link to an electric blue one. I got a BRG one to match my real car.

Just be aware that these things are SMALL! Not much bigger than a matchbox car. But they are fun. When you buy one, you will get the car with one body, and the controller. Then they sell additional bodies in sets of 2. I bought a starter set with a Red MCS. I then got a body set consisting of a BRG MCS, and a Porsche 911 Turbo. The bodies that came in the set of 2 have working head and tail lights. The body that came with the main set does not have lights.

There are batteries in the controller unit. You plug the car into the controller and charge it for about a minute. Then you can run the car for 5 - 10 minutes. Then just charge it for another minute, and off you go. It is a nice little set.

Enjoy!

I have the coolest little R/C Nitro(gas) car with a matching MINI body on it! I would post some pics, but i dont have any. It is the coolest thing ever though. Man is it fast, it accelerates to its top speed faster than my actual mini can accelerate to the same speed. I love it. I also have one of those tiny electric ones that i got at target, but they didnt have dark silver, so i settled for electric blue.

Bisch, I wasn't talking about Zip Zaps. (although I am familiar with those). I was elaborating on the little R/C cars that you can buy at Toys R Us. If you go up a few posts, you will see where I had started to talk about them.

M03!! My wife had that exact RC car and she painted it pink pearl.
She then added flower decals she made on the computer, etc. and raced it
on the weekends. She really stunk at driving so people would just watch
and have fun with the comical car going around hitting the pylons, etc....
when I would take over her place at the last heat and blow the other
HPI RS4Mini's and RoadRunners away.

I've been wanting to get a replacement one again in the latest MINI body.

The Brookstone catalog had a pair of MINI RC cars that you can race, as they run on different frequencies...

My other race cars beside MO3. I won some throphies with these cars. Brushless is fast, but if you take them to the track I think I win.

I was at Radio Shack last night picking up a battery and saw the RC Mini. I bought a CR/W one (for 9.99, even though the sale was supposed to start today). My son loves driving with it (it matches my 05 MCS).

My wife thought it was such a great idea, she went out and bought one for my daughter and one each for three cousins and their dads. I'm giving Mini's for Christmas!

While I am sure that a more expensive RC car might be 'better', but I can asure you these work well enough and a re a blast to play with. I didn't feel bad about playing bumper cars with my daughter (who is 5, btw)

I have 6 different sizes of RC MINIs that I got from various locations. The 1/6th scale came from Sam's Club. One came from Target (Fry's in Las Vegas has tons of them at the moment), the one that is basically the same as the Zip Zaps cars came from Toys-R-Us. One that the remote is a wristwatch was a gift, another one was a gift and the last one I'm not sure where I got it, but it may have been Walmart.

Brookstone has a fairly large one, plus two small ones.

Brookstone is selling a pair of 1:20 scale MINIs for $50, plus a 1:12 scale MINI for $70.

The 1:12 scale MINI:

The Radio Shack $9.99 ones also come in different frequencies. Red ones have a different frequency than the blue ones. I picked up one of each.

Pro4!!!

Are brushless legal these days? I've been away from racing RC for the
last 4 years... My Pro2 with my 'kenchan-tuned' 9turn was pulling
over 65mph on the straights running over 4.5min on a 2000mAh.

I loved my Super Nitro Rally, but that thing broke constantly, and was just too expensive (more money than a MINI ). My favorite part of the whole thing was putting it together.

Wow, you guys have some nice RCs! I just got into the RC hobby yesterday when I received a used Tamiya Mini Cooper Racing (classic Mini) car that I bought on Ebay. I was really mad when I received it because it was nowhere near as nice and in good condition as the seller described it and he took nearly three weeks to ship it. But I spent the entire evening taking it apart, cleaning it up, and personalizing it. Now I am pretty damn happy with it! I bought the same kit about three or four years ago along with the radio and lots of hop-up options, but I never built it. It is still sitting in my closet because I was too intimidated to put it together (too many parts and confusing directions.) So now I have two and best of all, I get to build one from scratch using the other as a reference! Anyway, I am jazzed about it although the learning curve of driving them is not too easy - I smashed into EVERYTHING and my cats are terrified!

Here is where I got my first kit: http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/315295.asp

Hi,

I've also been into RC cars for years and still have a 1/10th scale HPI RS4 somewhere. Does anyone make 1/10th scale lexan bodies for the Mini? I looked at both HPI and Proline but could not find them

Thanks!
