Question about using the Foxwell / Schwaben tool

When I read out the car's codes, is there any way to tell when they actually occurred, or what is currently an active code versus an old code from years ago? I see all the codes the car had from years ago that were already fixed.

It's using the term "Erase" for codes. Does that just mean it will clear them, or permanently erase them for good?

That can be an issue sometimes. As far as I have been able to tell, no the stored codes will show right along with the current ones. I just had this happen when I scanned a friends new-used R60. It had around 10 showing and only 1 was currently active, and I already knew which one I was looking for. But what you probably need to do is clear them and see what comes back.
I usually just use the quick erase feature to clear them. And yes it does permanently clear them so you won’t keep having old codes confusing current attempts to diagnose an issue.
hope this helps a little bit.

It's erases them for good when I tested it.
