Engine light and EML light on -P1498 code

Hello!
I have a 2005 Mini Cooper S manual, owned since new. A month ago the alternator went out, and I decided to do the supercharger service as well. Everything went well, except after a week the EML light came on. I restarted, and it went away. After few days it came on again, together with the "ENGINE SERVICE SOON" light. I went and re-checked everything - the intake hose was loose, and the little red round pin was off one of the vacuum hoses, attaching to the plastic intake tube. I redid all of the hoses, and it seemed fine. The light went away for few hours, and then appeared again.
I parked the car for about 10 min to pick something up, and when I restarted the light were off. I decided to run to the emission place, because my plates are due. It passed without any issues.
This morning both light came on again. I plugged in the scanner, and it reads P1498. I understand that it is a code for a vacuum leak?
Just as a precaution i ordered a new gas cap. the one I have only clicks once, maybe its not related but a new one is $20, so not a biggie.

My question is: Does it take time for the lights/code to go away, or do i take it to the dealer for a reset? Thank you very much!

You can clear the code with your scanner.

Oh cool. I didn’t know. I unplugged the ECU, and disconnected the battery for 20 min, then I restarted 4 times, and the light went away for now.
I’ll try with the scanner if it comes back, it’s just a basic one.
Thank you!

I assume you can clear it with your scanner. Not knowing what scanner you have I can say for sure but most have that capability. Read the manual that came with it.
