When I saw our car was on the Triton and that it had sailed, I called the dealer and asked how long once it unloaded in N.Y.
He said, "a week or so," so I'm thinking probably two weeks delivered to us in in Mass.

For those of you on the Hual Triton,
My dealer in Chicago thinks that 12/7 will be my day. The website shows that the ship has left NY but doesn't show that my car was taken off the vessel.
Mini Owner's lounge also still shows "En Route"

You are not alone, Jay. That's the exact same thing I see on the various Web sites for our Cooper.

I see the same thing for my Mini....the ship has sailed, but no update to the shipping registry or the Mini Owner's Lounge. The Owner's Lounge has a 12-6 est. delivery, so we'll just have to wait and see. I may call 866 ASK MINI on Monday to see if they have any updated information, but for now we wait.

>>Tried to check the WW site today to see if the car was offloaded. Getting an error message that only people with rights to a restricted session can check the status. Anyone else getting that message?
It let me on, just now, but no update in what we've been seeing: Triton has sailed, MINI not shown as ofloaded.

Yeah, I see that too.
Hmmm, I hope they took our cars off the boat!
I'm sure they did. Does anyone know if the vehicle prep center is open on weekends?
I'd expect to see more "progress" on Monday.
Not long now!

I was able to get in again, too. I'm assuming they've been offloaded, as from what I've read the BMW distribution center is in New Jersey. Makes no sense to keep them on board to Baltimore.
Interesting to see if they are worked over the weekend, or if they sit till next week. I suspect they run 7 days a week, but who knows.
Not that I'm anxious, or anything.

I'm sure our cars are off the boat but I'll certainly be very happy to actually see it changed to that status.
I would guess that the prep center workers may be in on weekends, but the office folks who update the Web site might not be.
But I'm sure we'll all be checking often from now to Monday.
I just did. No change. :???:

I'm getting very psyched in New Hampshire. What/where is hon-town?
More MCS' than Coopers. That seems odd.

Jim, two died in a 1,000- foot slide on the headwall below the lip. Here's a link to the AP story from my local paper:
http://www4.fosters.com/news2002/nov...eg_nh1130a.asp
You can find all the weather, snow, trail and avalanche info at:
http://www.mountwashington.org/
Although I've given up on my dismal telemarking attempts, I'm very familiar with Mt. Washington as I worked at the summit observatory for seven years and I do a lot of hiking in all seasons on the Presidential range.
I've driven my B up the Auto Road many, many times and have led trips for local British car clubs up there a few times.
Maybe I'll lead a MINI group up there some time. I give a good insider's tour of the summit's buildings, weather, history, geology, etc.
Let's see ... I'm planning on pointing the boards downhill at Wildcat next Sunday.
You can work on the break-in mileage and cruise up here and we'll have a MINI conventon on the slopes. Interested?
Norm

Hey HerLBC
Right on all counts
My ETD is listed as 12.4.02
Several people including L.Mini have stated that the Owner's Lounge ETD was spot on
Could be this week
And my Credit Union recently dropped rates 1/2% to 4.99% with 20% down
Spent all day yesterday cleaning out the garage
BTW
Did the Mt. Washington Auto road 21 years ago in a VW Bus after climbing the Whitney-Gilman Ridge on Cannon Cliff
Can still smell them brakes burning
My local ski buddy and my friend in SLC are both skiing today
Alas, I must prepare for the new arrival and reglue my skins
-Praying for snow in hon-town-(We don't see much)

Hey, Jim.

Mine says 12/3. Loan closing set for the same day, so if delivery date holds we'll have for the ski trip this weekend.

I've hiked Cannon but not by that route, and of course, skied it a bunch.
Well, the VW had brakes on all four wheels in those days, but you can't say much more than that about them.
There's way less excuse these days for the slow-going goofers who don't note their brakes fading and ignore the many signs that say, "Turnouts ahead. Stop and cool your brakes."
>>Alas, I must prepare for the new arrival and reglue my skins
What a mess. I did mine last year before our annual trip into Zealand notch.
>>-Praying for snow in hon-town-(We don't see much)
I bought new downhill skis last year so naturally it was a crappy snow year. Starting off way better this year.
I applaud your wife's choice of cars. While I love my roadster, it's a summer car. I've added overdrive and air conditioning to the GT, a CD/cassette/FM 4-speaker sound system and it's a great go anywhere, drive everywhere car. It's my daily driver and we're heading off in it now to the local MG club meeting.
My only worry about the MINI is whether we'll have conflicts about which car to take to the British shows and rallys this summer.
There's an update on the Tucks avalanche deaths:
http://www4.fosters.com/news2002/dec...ws/nh1201a.asp
Let me know when you come this way to see and maybe I'll skin along.

I checked the Owner's Lounge as well, and sure enough it had me at the VDC. Depending upon how quickly they verify the car is OK, and get it on a truck, it could be delivered as early as late this week to MI (since the lounge does have a 12-6 est delivery date).
Let's hope!

At noontime Monday the cargo tracking site says the car was "discharged" on the 29th and "delivered from," whatever that means, this morning at 8 a.m.
How about you all?
