R50/53 Where are the tire tools stored?

The compartment lid is held by two black plastic tabs. The pouch is secured with a Velcro strap.
There's no jack or lug-bolt wrench & no room for a spare wheel that I can see.
I carry a pressurized can of tire goo & an air pump.

Same in my 05MCS. No lug wrench, jack, or spare; that's why the factory cars came with run-flats. I too carry a bottle of Fix-a-Flat just in case.

On my 2004 MCS, there is a small pouch with pliers, screw driver, and tow eye in the compartment behind the left tail-light. The wheel chock, jack and lug wrench are in an odd-shaped zippered pouch that sits on the boot floor with straps that connect to hooks to keep it from moving around.

So strange... in the picture from the original poster the emergency jack and lug wrench is on the right. Under the boot mat, which may be more difficult to lift with the CD changer, is the battery box and next to the battery is a Styrofoam box with the tow hook, seatbelt/sunroof hex-wrench, screwdriver and hub cap removal tool. I believe that only Euro delivery cars came stock with the fix-a-flat kit unless the US dealerships tossed it in for free.

My 06/R53 came with a jack and lug wrench, but based on the build sheet, it came with run-flats...go figure...

Yep.. Usually lay the back seats down for luggage and such, It just sits there in case I need it. I believe WAY MOTOR WORKS sells the donut, if you don't have a local junkyard you can get one from .

My '04 (10/03 production date) doesn't have a place for a spare, so I'm guessing it came from the factory with run-flats, although running the VIN through the BMW/MINI vin decoder doesn't specify the supplied tires other than "All Season."
As to the O.P.s question; Yup, the red-trimmed bag holding the tow-ring is held by a captive velcro wrap and resides in the "secret" compartment at left of boot.
Too bad the black bizarre shaped elastic strapped hooked bag (acronym: BBSESHB) which holds the jack wasn't designed to fit in there... The whole deal appears to have been an afterthought.

Sorry for not getting back to reply sooner.....
Yes, my R53 never had a spare, but someone previous to me got the tool kit and the jack which just rides around in the trunk....the kid before me took off the passenger side muffler and I was thinking of trying to fit some sort of spare under the right rear corner of the car......I don't have run flat tires on the car, and the tires that are on there are one size smaller than stock.....so my speedo is 3 MPH fast.....
That bag that has the jack is kinda bulky at best.....where did they put the jack on the non-S cars.....under the rear seat?

Mine came with a pouch containing a jack, lug wrench and tow hook. It has hooks on either end of the pouch to hook it to the tabs on the floor of your boot.
I went to a wrecker and got a 4x100 mini spare ($10.) off a Honda Civic just in case. But have never had to use it after I got rid of the runflat tires. So the mini spare sits at home.
I carry a compressor, tire plug kit, and a can of tire fill in the cubby at the side of the boot.

[QUOTE=A383Wing;4393546]I may go to a wrecking yard to find a compact 4x100 wheel & tire....
I do like your list of items you carry.....I think I'll get a tire plug kit, along with a small compressor
Thanks....Bryan[/QUOTE
Most of the Civic wheels are 14"s and it most likely wont clear the brakes. look for a non-s clubman they have a 15" with a taller tire and will clear the brakes on a standard s.

Time to revisit this topic. I have first hand experience that the temporary 4x100 spare from a Honda Civic will NOT fit the back wheel of our MINIs. It will bolt on, but something will get stuck on the brake caliper. Honda Civics would have drum brakes so it would not be an issue, but our MINIs have disks with a caliper that comes out a bit.
I ended up using one of my summer wheels to get to a tire shop to get my winter wheel replaced.

I use a can of fix a flat and also have that MINI compressor// inflator in the back as a back up with my tire plugs. That way i can at least get home.
